India is in talks with 30 more countries to promote UPI adoption abroad*

According to a RBI official, 35-40 countries, including Japan, are in talks with India to adopt UPI*. Singapore's PayNow is already actively linked with UPI*
. The Reserve Bank of India Governor, Shaktikanta Das, has stated that more countries have been interested in collaborating with and linking with UPI to power digital transactions across borders, and as many as a half dozen countries could sign up as collaborators*.

Overseas markets accepting UPI payments include Singapore, Malaysia, UAE, France, BENELUX countries, Nepal, UK, among others*.

NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), the international arm of NPCI, had last year partnered with Liquid Group to enable QR-based UPI payments' acceptance in 10 countries across north and southeast Asia*
